Today our Early Learners have been enjoying some Bonfire night treats!
The children loved reading Room on the Broom before they all got stuck in, mixing dough and making sparkler biscuits! They then focussed on story sequencing, and used their recall to tell us what happens next in their story, before using their imaginations to make the story even better!

This week was all about Children In Need! Thank you everyone for contributing to our charity cake sale. It was a huge success! The cakes were absolutely delicious and we raised a fantastic amount for this very worthy cause.

What an fun week the Baby Room have had! The babies have enjoyed developing their physical skills through various activities and exploration, such as crawling through the brightly coloured tunnel to catch the balls we had rolled inside. After lots of fun exploring and playing, we relaxed with a pyjama day!

This week is National Smile Week and our Reception children wanted to show you their best smiles!
We talked about what makes us happy and what makes us smile, and the children gave some lovely answers, showing fantastic development of their language skills.

Our babies have had lots of fun with colour this week. They have been enjoying reading Handa’s surprise, and pointing at the different colourful animals we saw in the story. We then did some bird spotting in the trees around the nursery and went inside to colour pictures of garden birds.

Our toddlers have had lots of fun this morning exploring the messy mud with the dinosaurs! We used our fine motor skills to give the dinosaurs a wash, making sure they were nice and clean.

Well what a year 2020 has been. It's brought challenges none of us have had to face before but we are so proud of how we have all pulled together as a team, as an industry and as a country to somehow make it to Christmas, whatever that may look like this year. The children have been having a lot of fun this week playing different circle games.
Our Early Learners have been using their physical skills and listening skills to shake our multi-coloured parachute up and down, high and low, whilst trying to keep the balls on the parachute. We also worked on our communication skills and took turns using the slide, asking for our turn and waiting patiently for our friends to slide down.

We have had a marvellously messy day today in the reception room.
The children were exploring textures through sensory play using spaghetti and other foods you could find in your own kitchen at home. We were also promoting the children's fine and gross motor skills using tools such as tweezers and ladles to fill and empty small cups and large buckets.

The babies had great fun today exploring our story trays in our sensory area.
Sensory play helps babies to develop curiosity about their environment and its sounds, shapes and smells. Exploratory play is also beneficial for their ever-evolving fine and gross motor skills, and also for developing self awareness, self confidence and self esteem. It encourages babies to discover their likes (and dislikes!) and form independent skills...
