After gaining my NVQ level 3 in children's care learning and development I began my childcare career with Evolution Childcare in 2005 when I was offered a childcare practitioner role in the Toddler Room at Kalgarth Grange. Since then I have received extensive internal training, working within all of the rooms covering ages 0-5 years. I was promoted in 2011 to Room Manager of the Reception Room and had the opportunity to work alongside a larger team including new staff members that I helped train through Evolution Childcare's Induction process.
In February 2012 I was promoted to Assistant Deputy Manager which gave me a bit more insight into the business side of the nursery and gave me the additional responsibility for the nursery team alongside my Room Manager Role. In December 2012 I was promoted into Assistant Manager role which allowed me to train more on Evolution Childcare documentation and policies and also work alongside the whole team supporting roles such as SENCO and Health and Safety. During my time as Assistant Manager I did my NVQ level 3 in business management and also trained to become our ECAT officer, helping children to develop and meet their milestones through educationally planned activities.
In April 2014 I was promoted to Nursery Manager to cover maternity leave which allows me to train further on how to manage the nursery as a whole, building parent partnerships and supporting the team in providing the children with the best possible care and education.
I started working for Kalgarth Grange Nursery School in September 2009, I came to the nursery with my level 3 in childcare. I was first based in the Toddler room and throughout my time and experience here I have had the opportunity to work in Early Learners and Reception. Each room has given me the experience of working with different ages and I have gained the best knowledge of the EYFS, this was essential in delivering the curriculum and planning for each individual to meet their learning development.
During my time at the nursery I have been given the opportunity to complete several training courses to help with my job role such as safeguarding children, paediatric first aid, knowledge on the EYFS and play with young children. I also completed several courses to allow me to become the SENCO (special educational needs co-ordinator). This role is vital to assisting any children who may need a little extra support. I have delivered one to one sessions to suit the child's learning and put together personal plans to help children achieve their own targets such as interacting with others and to help develop their speech and language.
Through my hard work and dedication to the company I have been promoted through my roles. Firstly to Room Manager, then to Deputy Manager and most recently to Assistant Manager. I am thoroughly enjoying this role and I now work closely with the children and practitioners, I support them in their rooms and provide any training I feel is necessary and guide and support the practitioners with their room displays ensuring they are visually and educational to a high standard.
I began my journey at Evolution childcare in June 2012 at one of our sister nurseries The Stables, I instantly fell in love with childcare and realised that this was the career I wanted to progress in.
I have been able to experience all the different ages for 0-5 whilst at the stables which allowed me to gain further knowledge in the EYFS and adjusting activities and play to meet the needs of all ages. In 2005 I was able to gain my NVQ level 3 in childcare which provided me with even more in-depth knowledge for all areas of nursery life.
Upon returning from maternity leave in September I took it upon myself to do several online courses which allowed me to access areas such as leading a team, safeguarding children and effective parent partnerships amongst several others. In April 2016 I was promoted to Room manager of the baby room, I absolutely loved the added responsibility and being able to step up and encourage not just a team but a family. I love working within the baby room, especially being able to form strong bonds with new starters and providing mums and dads with the support and confidence when leaving their babies with someone new, especially having that understanding from my own experiences with my daughter.
In January 2018 I was transferred over to Kalgarth which I loved and thrived off the new opportunities. In March 2018 I was promoted to assistant deputy manager allowing me to further my responsibilities and gain knowledge of other areas within the nursery such as the operational running of the business. I have thoroughly enjoyed growing and developing within the nursery over the last 6 years and cannot wait to continue my journey.
I started working for evolution childcare in April 2015. I had worked in a nursery before many years ago when my children were younger, so I was really pleased to come back into the childcare environment and be given this opportunity at Kalgarth.
I started off working in the reception room and have also worked in the baby room, then I moved to toddler room where I gained my promotion to room manager in November 2017. Since being in my new role I have become a lot more confident and enjoy the challenges that comes with toddler life. Since I started working at kalgarth I have gained my NVQ level 2 and level 3 in childcare. I really enjoy working at Kalgarth, the staff all get on with one another and are like a second family to me.

In this role I planned daily activities, supported the staff within the room and liaised with my manager. I then took some time out to start a family of my own. Upon my return I have been working in the Early Learner room as Room manager. I love the role in supporting staff members and enjoy creating new and fun activities for the children to help them to grown, gain confidence and develop new skills.

In 2010 I covered a maternity leave Room manager role in the toddler room, were I gained more experience working with younger children and training staff.
After my maternity Room manager cover Evolution childcare have helped me to train, develop and gain knowledge to become a better room manager for future promotions that may come up.
