Messy Play & Makaton

Messy Play

Our toddlers have had lots of fun this morning exploring the messy mud with the dinosaurs! We used our fine motor skills to give the dinosaurs a wash, making sure they were nice and clean.

We used our fingers to create different marks in the mud and explore the textures we can feel. We used words such as ‘sticky’ and ‘wet’ to describe what we we could feel and the toddlers even sang their hand washing song as they scrubbed the dinosaurs nice and clean.

Makaton

Here at Kalgarth, we do weekly Makaton signs for the children to follow. We practise a different sign each week, to promote equality and diversity. Using Makaton promotes language development and encourages children to express themselves. This weeks sign is 'sister'. Can you sign along with Becky?
