Marvellously Messy Fun

22 January 2019

We have had a marvellously messy day today in the reception room.

The children were exploring textures through sensory play using spaghetti and other foods you could find in your own kitchen at home. We were also promoting the children's fine and gross motor skills using tools such as tweezers and ladles to fill and empty small cups and large buckets.

It is important for children to be given opportunities to develop their own way of thinking, as well as discovering new ways to approach a problem or puzzle. Trying new things with new knowledge and new skills will all help to aid in their ability to think critically and creatively...

...all whilst having a whole lot of messy fun!
